WHAT IS ALL STAR CHEERLEADING?

All Star cheerleading is one of Canada’s fastest growing sports and is quickly gaining popularity across the world! Cheerleading is a unique team sport that combines the athletic components of strength, power, flexibility, endurance and mental tenacity. It increases an athlete's body awareness, self-esteem and body image. Cheerleading cultivates leadership, effective peer communication and time management skills. Athletes within this sport work toward developing tumbling, jumping, stunting, and performance skills as they move through increasingly advanced divisions. At Peak Elite Cheerleading we have cheerleading teams for athletes of all ages and abilities.

All Star Programs

Our novice program is for athletes ages 5 through 12 who are learning the basics of cheer in a competitive environment. This is a half year program, running September to March. These teams perform at our gym showcase in November and compete at 3 competitions with Alberta. Novice teams are unranked, allowing athletes to set SMART goals that do not place an emphasis on winning their division.

Our all star prep program is for athletes ages 7 through 18 who have gained the required tumbling and stunting skills to attend tryouts. This is a full year program, running June to mid April. These teams practice twice a week perfecting level one stunts and tumbling. All star prep teams perform at our gym showcase in November and compete at 5 competitions within AB/SK/MT. These teams are great for highly dedicated athletes and families without the additional training, travel competition and financial commitments of the all star elite program.

Our all star elite program is for athletes ages 9 through adult who have mastered and perfected the required tumbling and stunting skills to attend an elite tryout. This is a full year program, running June to mid April/early May. These teams practice 2 1/2 – 3 times per week (plus additional training) perfecting a challenging level one through six routine. These teams perform at our gym showcase in November and compete at 6-7 competitions within Canada. These teams are for highly dedicated athletes and families.

Summer & Fall Programming

Our camps run all summer long! Peak Elite prides itself in providing diverse physical pursuits including gymnastics, cheerleading, ninja and cirque elements in each of our week long themed camps.

Our pre-competitive program is for athletes ages 4 to 12 who are interested in learning the basics of cheer. We focus on developing the necessary cheerleading skill sets to advance further within our pre-competitive program or make a smooth transition into the competitive program. This skill development includes tumbling, jumps, stunting, dance. The fundamental movement skills build coordination and increase balance, flexibility and strength.

Our NEW tumbling curriculum will divide tumbling classes by NEW levels. Skill records will be available through Jackrabbit as athletes train specific skills within each level to earn their badges.

Tumbling intensives are an excellent opportunity to focus on a specific skill from a badged level for 1.5 – 2 hrs through a series of circuits, conditioning and body shaping. Intensives are added to the schedule regularly and often include skills but are not limited to handstands, walkovers, back extension rolls, jumps, handsprings etc.

In addition to tumbling classes, we offer semi private tumbling lessons.  These lessons are for up to two athletes with one coach for 28 minute blocks.  We ensure that if two athletes are scheduled together that they are both working on similar skills.  Semi private lessons allow coaches to give more personalized feedback and instruction.  Generally, we use semi private lessons to supplement growth within tumbling classes and the badging system.
